This boy is truly amazing! And what a summer he has had, new experiences, new adventures and lots of new friends!

Where to start! Well for one he had his first little holiday away, only a long weekend for this first excursion, but he had the best time! He just takes everything in his stride, I think his most favourite experience though was his first BBQ, I’m sure you can all imagine why!!

So he’s seen his first train, wandered along forest paths and sat in numerous cafes, just watching the world go by! Everybody loves Bud and Bud just loves everybody right back!

His next trip is to the beach, he does appear to love water, so can’t wait to see what he makes of the sea!! I will try and get a little video if I can, I just can’t get enough of seeing Bud living life to the full.

All of these gorgeous shelter dogs deserve this, please consider foster, or adoption. I’m thankful every day for Bud, he has enriched our lives, just as much as we have enriched his! 🐶🐶💙💙

Another abandoned pup

This beautiful pup has apparently been roaming around the village for nearly a week. He has been spotted in so many locations that he is obviously been forced to move on.

He was found last night, a small white male around 4-6 months old.

Sting ~ born approximately July 2016. Sting is a beautiful hound mix. His siblings are Bobby, Charlie, Luna, Dotty and Dorris. He is a fully grown medium to large sized dog. He has a lovely black and white speckled coat, with black ears and markings on his face. He does love to run and play with his siblings and when he’s alone he will seek human company. He is a little shy and will stay in the back ground allowing others to have attention first. In a quiet, loving home he will come out of his shell and be a loyal companion.

🤩 BUGSY 🥳

Super cute funny Bugsy has now had his second health check, all is well 😃 He is a healthy weight at 4.300 kilos, he came in at 2.5. He was great with the vets & was happy to meet the tiniest Yorkie I have ever seen he was less than 2 kilos, a very happy healthy chappie he was 💗

BUGSY is now microchipped and has started his vaccinations.

Small male, healthy & happy, he is a little timid but has come on leaps and bounds in the short time ha has been here.

Bugsy will be ready for adoption very soon !! 🤩🥳💗

Shabani Update

💗 SHABANI 💗

Shabani after a hit and run driver left her with a shattered hind leg our vets performed surgery for nearly 4 hrs to save her leg.

We went back for second X-rays to find out how the leg was healing.

Surgery was a success, Shabani will not lose her leg. Screws, surgical wire and metal plates have held the bones in place however a small piece of bone (it will be absorbed) is floating leaving a tiny gap where 2 of the shattered pieces will need time to grow together and heal.

We will continue Shabani on calcium supplements & will go back in a months time for more X-rays.
When the bones are in place/joined and strong again Shabani may need the top plate taking out due to the need for it to be very close to the hip joint, one step at a time but Shabani is not in pain and is a happy little girl who loves company and a cuddle. She is playing with Bugsy, Pip and Ezra daily and her favourite sleep spot is a chair and big blanket so she can also jump up with no problems at all.

Three cheers for Shabani for being such a wonderful girl even after all she has been through 💗

Bath and a hair cut for Aaliyah. Due to Aaliyah's curly coat we decided to go short, her coat had become knotted after dips in the tub through the summer and drying off in the sand.

We started again so to speak, now we can keep her coat brushed ( I hope her curls grow back) 😁

Bag Pups Update

Amanda has been providing updates on the bag pups over the last few days as follows:


UPDATE 1: All four pups have fed a small amount from the bottle (it's a start) & they have been helped to pee successfully. Christy is taking a very motherly approach to them so PLEASE fingers crossed she will be able to help them and keep them warm as they get a little older.

UPDATE 2: after a very shaky start for the pups they are all feeding nicely. There are three males and one female. The two black pups were struggling to feed and very fussy what teat they would take from but they are now feeding a full bottle every feed, the golden pups are eager to feed and are now feeding over a bottle per feed. It is very early days as without their mums antibodies they are at risk. Christy is helping me, she cleans them after every feed (her feet are washed after her walk) Christy watches over them day and night but still jumps if they want a cuddle, they have to do with me for cuddles atm.

UPDATE 3: Break through tonight the small female took almost two bottles, I feel she has turned a corner and feel better for her

Have you ever considered fostering a puppy?

Compassion For Greek Paws is looking for foster homes for our pups to help them adapt quickly to living in a home environment. You will need to be mindful that these pups have NEVER lived in a home before and EVERYTHING is completely new and strange to them. They need time to become familiar with everyday household sounds such as television, radio, telephone ringtones, text message alerts, vacuum cleaner, doorbell, washing machine, lawn mower and so on. Ideally we are looking for people who will socialise the pups by taking them for walks daily and helping them to meet a variety of people of different ages. Be aware that these pups are NOT used to traffic, rubbish bins, bicycles, pushchairs, prams and may need assistance to relax whilst walking past these objects.

As a foster parent you would need to take photographs and videos on a regular basis and post on the Compassion For Greek Paws Facebook group or send them to our email or messenger address (see below). This enables people to see their progress and increases their chance of touching someone’s heart and being offered a forever home.

Please consider fostering from our shelter. These beautiful loving dogs just need a chance of becoming familiar living in a home to flourish and blossom into the most wonderful adoring companions. By fostering a pup not only do you enrich their experience of life helping them to catch up on all that they have missed out on thus far but you also enable a space to become available at the shelter for the next pup who needs to be rescued to have a safe place. So by fostering you are actually helping two pups and hopefully loving the opportunity to bless Compassion For Greek Paws with your kindness and time. Thank you.
