Tiny Tillie!!

💖 TILLIE

Tillie our tiny 'broken' abandoned female (just 4 1/2 kilos) is under the circumstances (broken hind leg) a happy little lady.

She is eating & drinking well. Although timid and obviously not used to being loved her continuously waggly tail and loving character is giving us a hint of a happy ever after in her future. I don't think it will be long until she decides cuddles are GREAT !!

Surgery is scheduled for the 4th of December. A rough estimate for her leg is 400€, this includes pre op x rays, surgery, and basic post op medication (antibiotics for a week and painkillers for two weeks)

Jessey is already organising a fundraiser to help cover Tillie's costs, if you would like to help Tillie please donate to Compassion for Greek Paws Paypal account. Our vet bill is already extremely high, we can not afford surgery costs & time is of the essence. Thank you from Amanda & Tillie 💖

Roof Update

Vixen & Hickory now have a roof!

The builder fell off his ladder so work for us has been delayed but he is back and the roof looks great.

Lianta-Oriana Doyle put some new fresh sand in & their kennels were cleaned. When we left this evening both Vixen & Hickory looked happy and cosy.

The sun was out, the boys worked quickly & Vixen & Hickory had an extra run, good day had by all

Luna

Luna ~ born approximately July 2016. Luna is a striking hound mix, an independent young female who is very happy playing with Zeke who she shares her pen with. Luna and Zeke get on extremely well and it would be ideal for them to be homed together. She’s a little nervous with strangers, but not aggressive, she will just hide away at a distance while keeping her eye on the stranger. With time and loving attention she will be happy and settled in a forever home.

If you are interested in adopting Luna please contact us via email: compassion4greekpaws@gmail.com or via Messenger: m.me/CompassionForGreekPaws  thank you.

Another abandoned dog

Abandoned older female found limping with a cut on her head. She is on the way to the vets.

UPDATE evening 28th Oct 19
The GOOD news is this poor little lady has clear bloods. The BAD news is her tiny bones are broken.
The vet will schedule a surgery date asap.

Tonight she is sleeping in a crate with lots of blankets covered with tarpaulin in the run area of the shelter. With no space at the shelter, and 15 dogs at home the situation is desperate.

Amazing Adorable Amy

Hello my name is Amy and I've heard my rescue foster Hoomans say it means 'dearly loved' which I can confirm I am" 💕.

I am nearly 9 months old, but apparently I'm rather big for my age, they say I'm a 'large mixed breed'. But don't let that put you off, as I'm puppy through and through and come with all the cuteness overload you can take! 😍

My foster mum has been training me so my new forever family will be impressed. I've been with them for two months now and you want to know what I can do!
Apparently I've got great manners and eat my dinner really nicely and don't rush it, I can also take treats off you and you really wouldn't notice it's gone, I'm so gentle.

I can 'sit' ( I always could 😉 but I like to let her think she trained me!) I do it real quick on command now and love it when she looks at me so delighted that I decided to play ball and agree to learn the others.

So I can 'wait' (that was quite tricky actually as she tricked me with a treat in her hand at the same time!) and 'down'. She has to move back when I do this one she said as I apparently have this huge body and end up with my head in her lap! She says I'm a first class student and a real star and I learn quick, sounds good doesn't it?! 😉

I've done all my toilets in the garden and never go inside, she's really impressed with this but I told her I'm not ready to do my business on a walk yet. I'm a little particular whose looking so foster mum says not to worry it will come with confidence.

I walk quite well on my lead, we have sniff time and heel time. Sometimes I sniff for ages according to mum and even dad but hey it's good to know what's and whose been out there!

I watched them for a couple of weeks throw the ball to each other and run after it, they seemed to be enjoying themselves so I thought I'd join in and chase them. I now love my ball and it even lights up at night for me. I love all my toys actually but I'm really good and I just chew my own stuff as mum said in this weird voice, 'yours', 'mine' so I kind of cottoned on quite quickly as to which bits I could chew.

Getting me a large antler helped but when i drop it on the floor I have to bark to let mum know it's gone under the couch. She doesn't like me getting it when that happens so she asked me to let her know when I need help so I do now.

I don't bark at all unless I need to tell her something. Once I even barked in the night to tell her I needed the loo. I'm good like that.

I love running around the garden and now don't bother with the plants as mum has done this thing called 'puppy proof' in fact I heard dad say he'd done it in the whole house too!

I just love my hoomans and even little hoomans as long as they don't run fast and scare me or shout loud. I'm learning to be gentle with my humongous Paws cos mum says it hurts if I clonk them so I'm getting really good at this now. I used to jump up loads but mum said it wasn't nice and she got too muddy so I save it for dad instead 😂

I've heard them say I have a real loving nature and I think that's pretty true as I wag my tail a lot and 'play bow' lots when I meet other dogs.

If you think you might like me to be a part of your family, I'd love that. I will miss my foster 'hoomans' loads but if you will love me, play with me, take me for walks and give me a space I can call home, I think I can get over them okay. 😉🐾💖

Getting Ready for the Winter!!

Amanda's wonderful husband has been helping at the shelter whilst Amanda is unwell. Huge thanks to him and to Lianta who not only worked really hard to clean, feed and poop scoop but also helped Amanda's husband take all the old burst water pipes down and the shade nets are now down and folded to be put away until next Summer. Not forgetting Youras who has put us a below the ground water tap to close and drain the water when temperatures drop below zero.

Lianta & Amanda will start to close the open kennels for the winter and put straw in, the nights are very cold now. Very nearly ready for the winter !!

Three Greek Shepherd boys

Greek Shepherd brothers Patch, Duke and Vasili are looking for their forever homes. They were born approximately September 2018. Duke weighs approx 37 kilos, Vasili weighs approx 35 kilos and Patch weighs approx 32 kilos. Duke loves food, cuddles and helps us by picking up the water bucket, not always putting it where we want it but he tries. Patch is active, intelligent and loves attention. Vasili is a little distant preferring his own company but loves a cuddle on his own terms at run time.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting either of these wonderful dogs please contact us either via email: compassion4greekpaws@gmail.com or via Messenger: m.me/CompassionForGreekPaws   thank you.

Bono Adopted!!!

I am very happy to announce that our beautiful tripod Bono is finally adopted and in his safe, warm, loving forever home.

Bono who has been with us from the very beginning is going to be missed dearly, he has always been the first to meet new guests, he made them feel at home & welcomed. Bono has also been to school to meet the children on three occasions. Loving this experience and behaving perfectly. Bono helped the children see how wonderful dogs can be even after all he had been through.

Bono took everyones heart he met with his happy, loving nature, his super fast wag and bright eyes.
Bono was found days after a car accident, his back had been broken in two places and fused, his front leg had to be amputated then he ate a plastic dog toy and had to have surgery on his intestine (twice) YET nothing stopped this beautiful boy loving everyone he met, every dog and cat.. he is a miracle boy and although things are not going to be the same without him here at the shelter please join me in wishing Bono a safe trip and a wonderful new life.

Thank you to Lyn of FRIENDS OF THE STRAYS OF GREECE for helping Bono fine his perfect home x

HAPPY EVER AFTER BONO 🥰🥰🥰🥰
