Adorable Alben

Alben ~ born approximately July 2016. Alben is a loving, happy boy who loves to play fetch. He has an amazing white coat and dark eyes – he’s a stunning boy inside and out. Alben is of medium size with a muscular and heavy build weighing around 20kg with no health issues..

Alben was thrown over the fence as a tiny pup at the shelter with 4 of his siblings. Unfortunately, two died immediately in Amanda’s arms but this dear gentle boy survived along with his brother Zeke and sister Thumbelina.

He hasn’t had the best starts to life yet he is full of love and affection. He loves a cuddle and to be made a fuss of. He is very much a people dog and is good with children. He loves to play with toys, fetch in particular and enjoys having a run around when he’s out of his pen. He walks well and has proven to be good in a car too.

Please consider giving this young lad a chance and the comfort of a loving bed at home knowing he will be cared for and safe.

If you are interested in adopting Alben please contact the shelter, thank you.

Serene needs to lose weight!!

A little concerned about SERENE'S weight gain.
42.300 Kilos.

Off we went to the clinic for a health check and bloods for Serene. Her bloods are fine, she isn't craving sunshine & her heart is ok sooooo it's diet time !!

We are not changing her food at this time, she will have two small meals and bulk up with carrots, cucumber and other veg. Thankfully Serene does eat carrots and cucumber, it will be fun finding other veg for her to try.

This won't go down well with Serina because she is a foodie but I will do my best to make her diet fun.

Serene can be food aggressive with other dogs so we will be taking her out and about as often as we can for a little extra exercise and hopefully keep her mind off food. Serene has never been food aggressive with us & will take a snack from our hands very gently so we plan to use her diet to maybe help with her food aggression with other dogs (work in progress).

Special lady Vixen

Vixen was born approximately November 2018. She had her first season August 2019. Talking Vixie is a special little lady, she was very timid when we picked her up but that is all behind her now.

Vixen was unfortunately abandoned in the village. People were shouting and throwing stones at her and no one fed her or showed any compassion towards this young girl. Their hatred of her was so great, the villagers got together with their hunting guns to shoot her! And all because she stole a chicken in order to survive. Amanda heard about her and rescued her Immediately. As soon as she found her, she jumped into her arms, desperately seeking a safe person and love.

As you can imagine she is shy of humans and will need a quiet, patient caring home. With this and lots of love she can learn to trust again. She loves attention but is fearful. She is timid but has never shown aggression. She loves toys and playing and needs to be given the chance of being the puppy she was never allowed to be. She is food motivated so will be easily trained. Vixen in time will make the most amazing, loyal friend, she just needs to be given a chance and find her forever home, to be loved and given the time to heal from her frightening start in life.

Thank you for considering Vixen, please get in touch if you think you can offer this sweet girl her chance of new life.

If you are interested in adopting Vixen please contact the shelter either via email: compassion4greekpaws@gmail.com or via Messenger: m.me/CompassionForGreekPaws thank you.

Precious Percy

Siblings Percy & Bonnie were found 8 June 2020 thought to be around 14 weeks old so born end Feb/beg Mar 2020. Percy was abandoned with his sister Bonnie by the deer pen which is next to the shelter. Percy is estimated to be a large dog when fully grown possibly around 30 - 40kg.

Although a potential Greek Shepherd mix, Percy is showing no signs of guarding, he is super sweet and very sociable. He loves run time saying hi to all the shelter dogs before running back for a cuddle and food. When they come in off the street they are usually fine with cats

Percy is lovable, sociable pup who is good with adults & fine with children. He loves to play with the other pups and dogs. He enjoys run time when he is out of his pen and always pops back to say hello in between. He is alert and should train well. Percy is good with his food and love to play with toys.

It would be amazing for Percy to have the chance of a loving forever home whilst he is still a pup and not have to grow up in a shelter. Please consider if this loving pup would make your family complete. Thank you for considering Percy.

Greek Shepherds are known for their loyalty, adoration and cuddly nature. However, they also are known to possibly have a ‘guarding instinct’. They were originally bred over the generations to guard herds of cattle and sheep from predators. Therefore, please be fully aware of this potential guarding trait that could be demonstrated as they get older. It is essential that you agree to training as soon as they are settled and inform us of the training school you intend to use. We recommend you become aware of what ‘guarding’ can look like in its early stages and require you to seek professional support if you notice it is being displayed. Not all Greek shepherd mix display guarding behaviour but if you notice it is early on, you can get the necessary support to prevent it. Thank you

If you are interested in adopting Percy please contact the shelter either via email: compassion4greekpaws@gmail.com or via Messenger: m.me/CompassionForGreekPaws thank you.

Raina

Raina having some shelter time out in the Cows field. Thankfully she didn't roll in the dung!

Raina needs a loving home, she needs space as her favourite times are cuddles, sitting with the Cows, watching the sheep walk by to graze and sitting pondering as the world goes by.

Raina is very social and is great with other dogs.

Around 3 years old, female, large breed, neutered, bloods clear & health book is up to date.

Raina is not a get in the car for trips out and about dog, she is very chilled and will benefit from a home is a rural setting where she can wonder in a safe area.

Raina is a very special, wonderful dog

If you are interested in offering Raina a wonderful forever home please contact the shelter, thank you.
