Roof Fund

Compassion For Greek Paws is an open roofed shelter at the foot of mountains in North Greece. The dogs at the shelter have been rescued from the street, from abusive owners, have been injured / recuperating or were unwanted puppies thrown in the trash or at the shelter gates. We endure extreme weather changes high temperatures up to 40 degrees during the Summer months & well below 0 during the winter we have seen -21 and average around -9. The wind chill from the mountains & valley make living conditions uncomfortable for the shelter dogs and dangerous for the puppies lives. Summer means the pens being open have very little shade, shade nets are applied however the sun, wind & rain leaves them very worn. The shelter babies need a roof, a roof to protect them from the harsh winters and very hot Summers. We are Compassion for Greek Paws & we need your help.

We are looking to raise the finances to roof all the pens. The first quote for 160 metre by 20 metres came in at 8000 Euros. We said no thank you very politely and asked to a second quote from another company 6000 Euros was their reply. We are waiting for a third quote which should be with us in a matter of days, hopefully at a lower price.

We must keep in mind that our weather is extreme and the wind bellows from the mountains and valley so we must be realistic, we need a quality build.
