Busy, Busy, Busy!!

 Lots going on and a sneak preview of the new brick kennels.

We have had to have a rethink about space at the shelter so we have closed off part of Domino, Charlie, Sting, Bobby, Dotty & Doris's pen to make room for LEON who is in kennels as it is costing a lot of money that we just don't have. 

 

We have also put up a new security gate, this gated area will double as an extra run area and kennel space for Bonnie & Luluka (now Nala).

 

The roof is going up still after a slight delay, both food stations now have a roof, this will stop the food getting wet as the food areas are at the top of the shelter and the second at the bottom in the run areas. The run areas are not covered, the reason being we want all the pens to have some sunlight throughout the day. Sally, Nathan, Jessey & Percy's roof is being extended out further at the back as the rain is dripping in, then we will cover the last two pens hopefully before the winter snow hits the mountains. Roof donations we must thank Friends of the strays of Greece for their continued support through our roof project.

 

Half of the kennels have been white washed (work in progress) and autumn deep clean has started before we bring in the hay for the cold winter nights and the whole shelter will have its last spray until early spring to keep the bugs away mid October.

 

We have a second leak in the water pipes so we are also going to have to rethink the water supply, work man we be coming in Friday 9th.
