Compassion For Greek Paws Review 2021

January 2021

The new year started with four new fluffy arrivals who were named after our beloved Amanda: Mandy, Jane, Maguire, Deligianni. At the end of the month we also welcomed Rouli who had been surviving on the streets but was in danger and needed shelter.

February 2021

Our wonderful workman, Youras created a beautiful way of honouring Amanda and bringing her back to the shelter where she truly belongs. He took one of her photographs where she is holding Ruthie who became Lola and turned it into a sign and then fixed it to the side of the shelter. Thank you Youras for your gift, you have blessed us richly. Beautiful Cocoa was adopted and is now living her best life with her new family.

September 2021

At the beginning of the month, Catherine and her daughter Jessey visited the shelter, something they had been planning to do for some time. They worked hard during their stay assisting with the work. Leanda and the dogs really enjoyed their company and were sad to see them leave. On the 15th September Compassion For Greek Paws turned 6 years old!

October 2021

We released our 2022 calendar for sale. It was produced by the wonderful mother and daughter team of Catherine and Jessey who have done a great job again. Cocoa who had been adopted earlier in the year sadly passed away at the beginning of the month. She was dearly loved by her adoptive family. Unfortunately we lost our beautiful Madison who passed away from heart failure. She had been a playful happy girl enjoying cuddles the day before. She will be missed at the shelter.

November 2021

We launched our new fundraising Facebook group so all our fundraising activities can be in one place. On the 18th November we remembered the passing of our treasured founder, Amanda. It has been hard emotionally to continue with Compassion For Greek Paws, however our love for Amanda and the dogs compels us to carry on as she would have wanted us to. We have appreciated all of the sympathy and support we have received from everyone who has been affected by our loss and have grieved with us.Thank you for lifting us and encouraging us when the going got tough.

December 2021

Friends of The Strays of Greece financed the completion of our roof for the remainig three pens making it a more comfortable space for the dogs that live in that space. We are so grateful for their support and generosity. We held our annual Christmas dinner fundraiser which was very successful due to the kindenss of so many of our wonderful supporters.  We received three sweet little puppies into the shelter, they are adorable Kokoni mixs, Harley, Mia and Lily. Leanda was given a special present on Christmas Eve when a puppy was left outside the shelter! She has been named Evie and is a sweet girl.
