Compassion For Greek Paws Appeal

We are struggling on a daily/weekly basis to cover needs such as food. We spend 15 euros per bag on food and use 3 bags of food daily plus cat food and are constantly struggling to cover costs. The food bill alone annually comes to over 16,000 euros. Keeping the dogs fed is a constant concern.

To keep the shelter working as it should we also have to cover vet bills, many of the rescues that come from the street NEED medical attention, dogs who have been abused, beaten and abandoned NEED help from a professional behaviourist or training school. If not they remain terrified or fear aggressive. We do the best we can by giving them a safe place to relax, they have run time and meet the other rescues, they are given veterinary care HOWEVER there are cases where we need extra help.If these special cases are left they live the rest of their lives in the shelter environment & will NEVER be homed.

Maintenance is also an on going work in progress imperative to keep the shelter safe. We are surrounded by mountains, Wolves, bears, working farms with packs of working dogs, we need to constantly upgrade the outer fencing & separation areas.

Kennels in the U.K is another drain on shelter funding.

We are looking for people who would like to join our foster team and are very grateful to those who already foster our dogs. Reducing the number of dogs at the shelter naturally reduces our expenses and gives the dogs a super start/ stepping stone to their happy ever after.

We are also keen to encourage fundraising by our supporters. Could you, your friends or family arrange any fundraising events? Are you interested or enjoy fundraising and could put a group together in your area?

We need help.

I must take this opportunity to thank our Euro Club supporters who donate on a monthly basis, our supporters who donate to every appeal, to Jess who fundraises for training and emergencies, our admin, foster team, to my husband who puts up with me, our many dogs at home, helps every Friday at the shelter, pays for all the petrol and has given the shelter a small van for vet trips/ food collection & to everyone who supports us by sharing our posts and are active members of the Compassion For Greek Paws Facebook group and page, Compassion for Greek Paws Happy Endings Continued Facebook group, our blog, Twitter, Instagram and web site.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP US ......
