Zina, Chico, Neesh - RIP

2019 has had the most sorrowful of starts for us at Compassion for Greek paws🐾.

ZINA We lost beautiful old girl Zina, ex working dog who came to us with cancer after having litter after litter, Zina went through surgery and was recovering so well then the cancer became aggressive and reached her lungs. We with the vets on call help did all we could but the when the cancer reached her lungs we had to say goodnight as she was suffering, she couldn't take in enough oxygen and only had hrs to live. The decision for Zina to go to sleep was not taken lightly, our vets all agreed she was suffering and we would only be prolonging her suffering if we didn't make the right decision. We miss her and wish we could have done more but she was loved, had a cosy kennel and due to her age and hard life had extra treats of chicken every day after her surgery. RIP sweetie, we will always remember you x

CHICO, the tiny kitten abandoned by his mum & siblings left alone and unable to feed due to his eyes being infected came to stay with us in the village, he grew strong with the most beautiful coat I have ever seen. His eyes started to heal but the infections kept coming back, we tried different treatments but the infection reached his brain, Chico was happy right up to his last moments, he wobbled a little then lay in my arms and purred and purred. He didn't understand he was very very sick and left us curled up like he was sleeping.

Chico

NEESH our handsome deaf, old dude, came to us after many years of abuse on the street, it was obvious he had been handed a bad deal as he was just adorable, loving, quiet and super sweet. Neesh was suffering from anaemia when he arrived and worried us as he was late to heal but he did, his eyes grew clear and his coat eventually began to shine. I wanted neesh to know the happiness of a home and just before he became ill, he was ready. He held his head up, he didn't shy away when stroked he was ready for his forever home then he was diagnosed with Leukaemia. I just couldn't believe this was happening, not to Neesh he had suffered enough surely. Neesh went to sleep and didn't wake up, he passed peacefully, he just went to sleep, after such a hard life his passing was peaceful, that much we can be thankful for..

Neesh, Chico, Zina run free and without pain, thank you for the pleasure of your company and love. We will never forget you xxx
